XAU/USD slides toward 4557 as bearish trend tightens grip
Gold is sliding beneath a fully inverted EMA structure with sellers in control on every timeframe that matters.
XAU/USD tacked on 0.69% on the session, but the daily candle tells a more cautious story. Price carved a 4480.62 to 4584.28 range before retracing to 4562, well inside the upper half of the day's move. No macro catalyst drove the intraday recovery; the bid looks opportunistic rather than structural.
The setup argues firmly for the bear case. EMA20 at 4590.95, EMA50 at 4630.31 and EMA200 at 4692.61 are stacked in descending order above current price, forming a layered wall of supply. Trend is aligned lower on the 4H and daily, with the 1H remaining mixed rather than confirming any recovery. RSI sits neutral and is not stretched, meaning momentum has room to extend the downside before reversion pressure builds meaningfully. Volatility is elevated, which suits trending conditions but also amplifies stop-sweep risk on any squeeze into the EMA20 offer. Prior levels at 4610.16, 4646.98 and 4660.24 have all surrendered on the way down and now serve as layered resistance.
We lean short and sell rallies into the 4557–4590 zone. A daily close through 4610.16 invalidates the call and forces reassessment; below, we look for continuation toward 4510.98 and 4500.79.
