XAU/USD slides toward 4511 as downtrend accelerates
Gold is in full distribution mode, printing fresh lows with no meaningful support structure left standing above the 4500 handle.
The metal has dropped nearly 2% on the session alone, carving a range from 4665.26 down to 4511.97, extending a weekly loss that now exceeds 4%. Prior context is damning: every key level from 4660.24 down through 4510.985 has been broken in turn, and the tape has not attempted a meaningful reclaim at any of them.
The setup is the cleanest kind for a trend-following desk. Trend is aligned down across the 1H, 4H and 1D timeframes without exception. Price trades below EMA20 at 4595.44, EMA50 at 4635.32974 and EMA200 at 4694.66935 — the full EMA stack is inverted and acting as layered resistance overhead. RSI is stretched toward oversold territory without yet triggering a technical reversal signal, and volatility is elevated, giving sellers room to extend. With analytics conviction sitting near the top of the scale, the directional read demands a continuation bias. Resistance at 4610.16 and 4646.98 represents the first two supply zones any relief rally must clear to change the narrative.
We sell bounces into the 4558.95–4595.44 zone and look for a test of 4500.79, then 4480.49 as the trend extends. A daily close above EMA20 at 4595.44 forces a stand-down.
