XAU/USD slides to 4205 as trend aligns down all timeframes
Gold has no structural support below current price, and the trend stack is telling a single, consistent story: sellers remain in control at every timeframe.
XAU/USD is down 1.18% on the day, trading near 4205 after ranging between 4172.70 and 4258.03. Over the week the pair has shed more than 5.6%, with prior levels at 4353.25 and 4475.71 broken in succession and now acting as overhead supply.
The setup is clean for a momentum desk. Trend is aligned down across 1H, 4H and 1D with no divergence between timeframes. EMA20 at 4322.70 and EMA50 at 4396.24 are stacked against price, with EMA200 at 4553.08 well above — a full bearish EMA structure. Volatility is elevated, keeping the intraday range wide and rewarding patience on entries rather than chasing. RSI has reached oversold territory, which demands acknowledgement, but in a confirmed downtrend oversold readings can persist and a trend-following desk does not fade momentum on an oscillator signal alone. The broken levels at 4353.25 and 4363.33 now form the ceiling.
We sell rallies into the 4322.70 area where price would test EMA20. A daily close above 4353.25 invalidates the bearish thesis and forces a reassessment; below 4172.70, the tape has room to extend.
