XAU/EUR reclaims 3742 as short-term trend bids against daily drag
Gold in euros is staging a decisive intraday recovery, and the 1H/4H trend stack is doing the work despite a stubborn daily downtrend overhead.
XAU/EUR has added over 1.1% on the day, sweeping from a session low of 3697.74 to a high of 3760.47 before settling near 3742. With no headline catalyst in the news flow, the move reads as technical demand absorbing prior resistance and reloading. The weekly gain has extended past 2.6%, suggesting medium-term accumulation is underway.
The setup favours continuation on the shorter timeframes. Price sits comfortably above EMA20 at 3717.38 and EMA50 at 3716.27, with both levels converging into a strong demand shelf between 3715.97 and 3717. Trend alignment is mixed given the daily trend remains down, but momentum from 1H and 4H is the dominant driver here, and RSI is neutral with room to push. Volatility is elevated, consistent with the wide intraday range, but ATR shows manageable moves rather than disorderly conditions. Resistance clusters at 3754.22 and 3760.97 cap the near-term upside; a clean break above 3769.18 would shift the structural picture materially.
We lean long and look for dips into the 3715–3717 zone as entry. A daily close below 3715.97 invalidates the bullish read and reopens the path toward 3702.73.
