XAU/EUR downtrend extends as price slides under 3780 EMA20
Gold priced in euros is in a clean, uninterrupted downtrend, and the tape is offering no reason to stand in its way.
XAU/EUR has shed more than 2.7% over the past week and printed a session low of 3740.66 on Monday, with the current bid at 3745.37 holding only a thin margin above that floor. There are no fresh fundamental catalysts in the window, but the absence of any buyer defence at each prior resistance-turned-support is itself the signal.
The structure is as clean as it gets for a trend-following desk. Price sits below EMA20 at 3780.72, EMA50 at 3819.38 and EMA200 at 3911.93 — a full bearish stack, with each moving average acting as overhead supply. Trend is aligned down across all timeframes, RSI is drifting in weak territory without yet reaching an oversold extreme that would invite mean-reversion longs, and volatility is elevated, meaning the swings carry conviction. The 3777.76 resistance level, formerly a support that failed to hold, now caps every bounce. The next structural floor sits at 3702.73, and we expect the tape to work toward it. With no news catalyst to disrupt the flow, price action is pure trend.
We sell rallies into the 3768.88–3777.76 zone, using the session high and prior resistance as the natural offer pocket. A 4h close above 3777.76 forces a stand-down; below it, sellers retain control.
