XAU/EUR bear trend extends, 3545 bid below 3656 EMA20

Renzo

XAU/EUR is in a clean, uninterrupted downtrend with no structural support beneath current price and every major moving average positioned as overhead supply.

The pair sits near 3545 after a daily range of 3490.96 to 3564.22, adding a modest 0.49% on the session but still nursing a steep weekly loss of more than 7.7%. Prior resistance levels at 3769.18, 3777.76 and 3879.18 were each broken in succession over the past seven sessions and none has been recovered. There is no relevant news catalyst in this window; the move is pure trend and positioning.

The structural picture is unambiguous for a trend-following desk. Price trades well below EMA20 at 3656.65, EMA50 at 3744.05 and EMA200 at 3890.21, with the full bear stack in order and no level of the three inverted. Trend is aligned down across 1H, 4H and 1D simultaneously. RSI is deep in oversold territory — in a momentum regime this signals persistent selling pressure rather than a bounce trigger, as oversold conditions can extend through the life of a strong trend. Volatility is elevated, consistent with a market that is distributing rather than accumulating. Resistance clusters at 3769.18 and 3777.76 remain distant overhead anchors.

We sell rallies into the 3545–3657 zone, using EMA20 at 3656.65 as the ceiling for any intraday retracement. A daily close above 3656.65 invalidates the call and forces a full reassessment.
