Nikkei reclaims 66722 as momentum clears prior resistance shelf

Renzo

The Nikkei is quietly doing what strong trends do: chewing through supply levels one by one and making bears cover.

The index has advanced 4.59% over the past week, steamrolling through six successive resistance nodes in the process, and today extends the run with a further 0.56% gain. The session range of 66308.5 to 67043.5 captures a broad but orderly move, consistent with the elevated volatility environment the ATR signal reflects.

The structural setup favours continuation. Price trades above EMA20 at 64876, EMA50 at 65205, and EMA200 at 63277, with the full EMA stack pointing up — the cleanest condition for a trend-following approach. The 1H trend is up, though the 4H and daily frames are neutral, giving the trend alignment a mixed read rather than a fully stacked confirmation. RSI is firm without being in overbought territory, which preserves room before momentum becomes problematic. The analytics signal is bullish over a 48-hour horizon, and the prior-week sequence of broken levels argues that institutional flow is absorbing supply rather than fading it. The next resistance sits at 67533, followed by 67875.

We lean long and buy dips toward the 66026–66308 zone where support clusters. A daily close below 66026 invalidates the call and signals a pause or pullback toward 65568.
