Nikkei holds 71056 as 4H/1D trend stack argues for higher
The Nikkei is consolidating just above the 71111 support shelf, and the tape is coiling for a continuation rather than a reversal.
The index added 0.25% on the session, oscillating across a 70660.5 to 71353.5 range with no high-impact news catalysts in the window. The move is entirely price-driven, and the absence of a fundamental headwind is itself worth noting for a trend desk. Prior sessions saw the index break successive levels from 68747 through 70687 in sequence, building the structural base that now underpins the current bid.
The trend picture is constructive. The 4H and daily timeframes both read up, with the 1H neutral and effectively consolidating the recent push rather than rolling over. Trend alignment is mixed but not broken, and RSI sits neutral — unhelpfully non-extreme, which means momentum has room to rebuild on the upside without immediately bumping into overbought conditions. Volatility is elevated, consistent with the wide daily ranges seen this week, but it is cutting both ways rather than signalling directional exhaustion. The EMA20 at 70300, EMA50 at 69852 and EMA200 at 65852 remain stacked in a clean bull order, and price is trading well above all three. First resistance sits at 72197, a level cleared and then lost in the prior week; reclaiming it cleanly would confirm the next leg.
We lean long and buy dips into the 70687–70300 zone. A daily close below EMA20 at 70300 invalidates the trend case and forces a reassessment.
