BTC/USD stalls at 63895 as downtrend keeps sellers in control
Bitcoin is pressing against a well-defined resistance shelf that has already turned the tape away once this week, and the momentum stack still favours the sellers.
Price is fractionally positive on the day, trading inside a 63238 to 64073 range and sitting just below the 63895 resistance level. The weekly print tells the real story: BTC has shed over 3.5% across the past seven sessions, confirming the downtrend that began after prior resistance at 64357 and 64198 broke to the downside.
For a trend-following desk, the setup is clean enough. The 4H and daily trends are both pointed lower, with only the 1H neutral, keeping trend alignment mixed but with a clear directional lean. RSI sits in the lower-neutral band, not yet oversold, which argues there is room for the move to extend before a meaningful bounce develops. Volatility is elevated relative to prior sessions, which can accelerate momentum once a level breaks decisively. EMA20 at 63901 and EMA50 at 64098 are stacked just above current price, acting as a resistance band that has so far absorbed any intraday bids.
We look to sell into any squeeze toward 63895–64073 and expect the next leg to target support at 63141, then 62281. A daily close above EMA50 at 64098 invalidates the call and demands a stand-down.
