AUD/CAD reclaims 0.9900 as trend stack aligns for extension

Renzo

AUD/CAD is pressing the 0.9900 handle with the trend stack aligned up across every timeframe, and the tape is behaving like a momentum tape, not a ranging one.

The pair advanced roughly 0.56% over the past week and is up modestly on the day, trading between 0.988655 and 0.99114. That contained daily range signals orderly consolidation rather than exhaustion, with price digesting gains before the next potential leg higher.

The structural read is unambiguous for a trend-following desk. EMA20 at 0.98826, EMA50 at 0.98663, and EMA200 at 0.98641 are stacked cleanly below price, with the shorter averages leading. Trend is aligned upward across the 1H, 4H, and 1D simultaneously. RSI sits in neutral territory with no sign of overextension, leaving room before momentum flags become a concern. Volatility is running at normal levels, which favours continuation setups over mean-reversion fades. The first resistance to clear sits at 0.99295, with 0.99539 the target beyond that. The nearest support shelf at 0.98938 aligns with the recent consolidation base, and EMA20 at 0.98826 adds a second layer beneath it.

We look for dips into the 0.98826 to 0.98938 zone as buy opportunities. A daily close beneath EMA50 at 0.98663 invalidates the setup and demands a full reassessment.
