AUD/CAD grinds toward 0.97928 as downtrend holds firm

Renzo

AUD/CAD is pressing into a critical support shelf with the short-term trend stack pointing squarely lower and no macro catalyst stepping in to arrest the move.

The pair is off roughly 0.13% on the day, trading inside a narrow range between 0.97904 and 0.98128 and carrying a weekly loss of more than 1.28%. No single headline is driving this; it is persistent, orderly selling pressure that has worked through multiple prior levels in quick succession, including the 0.98666 resistance that is now layered overhead as supply.

The structure is clean for a trend-following desk. Price sits beneath EMA20 at 0.9832, EMA50 at 0.98558 and EMA200 at 0.98667, with all three moving averages stacked bearishly above as a graduated supply zone. The 1H and 4H trends are aligned lower, the daily is neutral but not providing a meaningful bid, and RSI is drifting near oversold territory without yet reaching an extreme that forces a fade. Volatility is calm, which supports a continued grind rather than a sharp mean-reversion squeeze. Prior context reinforces the picture: multiple levels have been broken rather than defended, and the bias has been bearish throughout.

We lean short and sell any rally into the 0.9793–0.9832 zone. A daily close below 0.97928 opens the path toward 0.97692. A 4H close back above EMA50 at 0.98558 invalidates the call.
